I decided to make a list of some of the best Sonic games in the franchise out of my opinion. Don't whine about a certain game being in the list or not being in the list.

10. Sonic Rush
A fast paced 2D Sonic game. It brought us great level design, fast paced platforming, good graphics(for a DS) and the music was awesome. Despite being a good game, I find it a bit too fast for my likings, I can barely see what the hell is going on!

9. Sonic Adventure 2
After the first Sonic Adventure's success, a sequel needed to be made. Sonic Adventure 2 has recieved much praise from fans and is typically known as the "best Sonic game EVER". While I highly disagree, it's still a good game, the controls are great, the music is awesome, but the platforming is scarce for Sonic and Shadow's levels. Like I said, it's a good game but it's very overrated.

8. Sonic Advance
Practically an updated version of the classics. It returned Sonic back to his 2D roots and it almost felt like playing the Genesis classics. I'm not a big fan of the music though.

7. Sonic CD
Another game that is known as the "best Sonic game EVER". While it is a pretty good game, the level design is a big mess. Don't get me wrong I like how the levels are planned out but there is some obnoxious needle placement all over the game that makes it hard for you to time travel(which was it's main gimmick).

6. Sonic 1
The game that started the rivalry between Sonic and Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. It was pretty awesome for it's time. It was fast, the graphics were great, the music was memorable and it was challenging.

5. Sonic Generations
This game brought back the classic style of gameplay. The physics were as close as they can be for classic Sonic, while the level design had plenty of platforming for modern Sonic. The levels were to pay tribute to their original counterparts with updated graphics, changed level design, and remixes for the music. While the game is great, it's pretty short.

4. Sonic Colors
After Sonic 4's success, Sonic Colors came in to let us know Sonic was back in business. The music was amazing, the graphics were nice and colorful(it lives up to the game's name), boosting was limited and the controls were great. The game introduced wisps, a race of aliens that give Sonic unique abilities that serve as the game's main gimmick. My main problem with this game is that it's jumping physics are a bit off because it feels "floaty" but it's not very hard to get used to.

3. Sonic 2
This game took what was great from Sonic 1 and doubled the awesomeness! It introduced to us Miles "Tails" Prower, a two-tailed fox that helps Sonic throughout the game. It also gave us a fun 2-player mode for when a friend comes over and wants to play. As far as I know, the game is really hard to beat.

2. Sonic Adventure
The game that I feel is better than Sonic Adventure 2. The controls were great, music was beautiful, their was plenty of fast paced platforming unlike it's sequel, and it was Sonic's first TRUE 3D adventure.

1. Sonic 3 and Knuckles
Probably my favorite Sonic game. It dazzled us with better graphics, huge levels to explore, awesome and memorable music, and it was fast! It introduced to us Knuckles the Echidna, one of my favorite Sonic characters. The game deserves the praise it gets, it's a timeless classic.

What's wrong with S3K in your opinion?

It was chopped in half, it focused more on innovation and story than the actual gameplay, The levels were all linear and offered almost zero challenge, the bosses (with the exception of Mecha Sonic, who's the best boss in the game) were all too fucking easy, and Knuckles was clearly unneeded. seriously, Knuckles had no need in the game what so ever.

I thought the levels were awesome, and I find it perfectly alright for the story to be good because the gameplay was good as well. I find it easy to play now but only because I played it alot as a kid.

Nostalga's a bitch. I've played the game as kid too, but i hated the game( Sonic 3 was fine, Sonic and Knuckles was where I drew the line). Too me it wasn't one or two games. it was a stupid, overpriced Add-on to a long, boring overstreched game with a terrible redesigned Sonic, Horrid Special Stages, and a Crap Final boss at the Doomsday Zone. Everyone: The game is God. Me: The game is garbage not worth being called a "Game".

I generally don't let nostalgia get the best of me, I just like the game better than others loved by fans like SA2 or Sonic 2.

I'm not saying YOU'RE Nostalgic. I'm just saying most people who "love" S3K only play for

a) Nostalgia

or b) Because some prick on the internet told them too.

While I enjoy Sonic 3&K, I never liked the special stages for it.
